The Compatibility Document does not directly address the subject of non-HP stylus support. Our community does not have any access to internal HP departments for the purpose of obtaining answers to this kind of question. In general, our community depends on the same documentation that is available to the public. That means: It is not known whether your computer supports a Microsoft Surface do not know whether the use of the word "Microsoft" in this context means that the Microsoft Surface pen uses the same protocol as an 'HP Pen (Microsoft)' for the purpose of determining compatibility. In their reply, I was asked to check if my device is compatible with the Microsoft Surface Pen because Adonit Ink uses Microsoft Pen Protocol. My notebook model is not listed on their device compatibility site so I emailed them. I came across Adonit Ink which seems to have positive review and I intend to give it a try. The Adonit Dash 4 is a very well-made stylus. This one has a skinny plastic tip and an aluminum body that makes it a lightweight, precision alternative. If you want something that’s a bit more pencil-like and accurate, check out the new Adonit Dash 4 stylus made for both iOS and Android. Everyone else has to make do with a generic stylus with those squishy rubber tips. Most smartphones these days don’t come with a stylus unless you own a Samsung Galaxy Note or some other brand phone that’s specifically made for one. This will be a fairly quick review for something that you’ll either really need or won’t need at all.
